Spring Storytime in Kinder!

Today our Lancefield centre had a special visit from Olivia at the Goldfields Library.

Our Kinder children have been exploring Spring, insects, and the garden, and how these all connect to play an important role in our everyday world. Olivia’s visit tied beautifully into this learning.

She shared two engaging stories:

📘 “Butterfly, Butterfly” by Petr Horáček

📗 “A Good Place” by Lucy Cousins

These bright, colourful books helped the children learn about insects and the important jobs they do in our gardens.

The children also joined in with action songs they selected themselves, including:

🎵 Little Peter Rabbit

🎵 Open, Shut Them

🎵 Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes

Storytelling is such a valuable part of early learning. It supports Learning Outcome 5 – Children are effective communicators, helping children build a love for language, make connections between spoken and written words, and engage meaningfully with texts.

Thank you, Olivia, for a wonderful morning of learning and fun! 📚✨
